Stop 66 Ft Road Garbage Mangement Plant ( 2 lakh life's will be affected)

Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Bhagwant Mann

Subject: Urgent Appeal to Halt the Waste Management Plant Project on 66 Feet Road, Jalandhar

We, the concerned citizens and residents of 66 Feet Road, Jalandhar, hereby unite to voice our collective distress and opposition to the proposed waste management plant in our vicinity. It has come to our attention that the establishment of this facility on 66 Feet Road is poised to adversely affect over 200,000 lives due to the ensuing pollution and spread of harmful and infectious diseases in one of the most densely populated areas of Jalandhar City.

The proposed location for the waste management plant is alarmingly inappropriate. The proximity to residential zones means that the entire area is at risk of becoming a pollution hotbed, jeopardizing the health and well-being of over 2 lakh residents. The potential spread of diseases in such a densely populated area is a grave concern that cannot be overlooked.

We understand the necessity of waste management facilities for the sustainable development of the city. However, such infrastructure must be thoughtfully placed where it minimizes risks to public health and the environment. Therefore, we strongly urge that any plans for waste management or garbage treatment plants be relocated outside city limits, preferably in areas where the population is sparse or negligible, to mitigate adverse impacts.

Our appeal to you, Mr. Bhagwant Mann, and to our state government, is rooted in the very promises of change and improvement upon which you were elected. The envisioned development should not come at the cost of the quality of life of your citizens. Implementing a waste management facility within a densely populated area contradicts the principles of safe and healthy urban planning and directly threatens the well-being of Jalandhar’s residents.

We implore you to reconsider the proposed location of the waste management plant and to immediately halt its development on 66 Feet Road. Instead, we request that alternative sites be evaluated for this project, where the adverse effects on the population and the environment can be significantly reduced.

The health, safety, and welfare of over 2 lakh residents are in your hands. We trust in your leadership and commitment to the well-being of Punjab’s citizens and kindly request your urgent intervention in this matter.

Thank you for considering our plea. We look forward to your prompt and favorable response, ensuring a safer and healthier future for the residents of Jalandhar.

Sincerely,

Himanshu Pathak

On behalf of the residents of 66 Feet Road, Jalandhar.
