I got honoured to be given the first ever Ontarian Stillbirth Certificate by the Assistant Deputy Minister, Beverly, who took the time to attend the Wave of Light.
Three and a half years ago I started emailing all government workers I could find on Google. Emails, petition and some meetings.
Three and a half years ago I thought to myself “if stillbirth certificate comes to fruition, I want it to be announced on October 15th.” Which is today.
Bereaved parents of Ontario, whose child/ren was/were born still (as early as 1944!) can now apply for a commemorative document from the Government of Ontario.
Thank you to the ones who believed in me. Thank you for your shares and signatures for the petition.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ I want to remember this day forever.
We did it.
I did it for you, my sweet girl.
And bereaved parents, I hope it heals your heart. At least just a little bit. 🫂
