Hi all, I am really proud of the fact that we have been able to make our voices heard, change many minds and raise the importance of this issue. Unfortunately, it looks like in this round of the fight money spoke louder than the voice of the people. However, there are three things I would like to ask you to do before we sign off from this particular petition: #1 VISIT THE CAPITOL TOMORROW (if you're interested - find me on Facebook and I will connect you to the group of folks visiting). #2 CALL YOUR SENATORS TODAY Plan A- Remove the Judiciary Committee amendment. This is how you can help: •Call your Senator TODAY. (You can leave a voice message!) Find your Senator here •Simply ask them to: “Support the motion to revert HB 1947 to the original printer’s number.” •Share this email with family and friends. Ask them to call also.” •I know this likely doesn’t make any sense to you, but it will to the Senators. (It’s a procedural move that can accomplish good things!) Questions? John Salveson (215) 870-0680 salveson@abolishsexabuse.org Marie Whitehead 215-439-0536 mwhitehead@abolishsexabuse.org #3 STAY CONNECTED Remember - most meaningful legislation in our country's history takes years to pass. Please connect with another organization that is working to end this injustice in our state. I personally recommend http://abolishsexabuse.org/ (go to the website to subscribe). You can also follow State Rep Mark Rozzi on Facebook or Twitter. He has undoubtedly been the #1 advocate for this bill in the PA Legislature. I will keep you posted on the progress (or lack thereof) of the bill through the legislature. Thank you for fighting, Mariya
