Make an exhibit for Penguins at the Smithsonian National Zoo!

The Issue

Ever since the early-mid 1960s, the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington D.C. got rid of their penguins from the Bird House. The zoo hasn’t had any species of Penguins for about 60 years as of now and don’t have current plans on bringing them back on display at the zoo.

Penguins are among some of the many popular animals to see at zoos, and the country's capital zoo, the Smithsonian National Zoo, wouldn’t be complete without Penguins. I think it’s about time for the National Zoo to bring back Penguins for an all new and more suitable enclosure for them unlike in the past, the new Penguin exhibit will give the Penguins much more room and a pool for them to swim in as well as an underwater viewing area to watch them. The zoo should have both an indoor and outdoor area for different Penguin species, the indoor area would include Antarctica Penguin species such as King Penguins, Rockhopper Penguins, Gentoo Penguins, Chinstrap Penguins, and Adelie Penguins in an Antarctica-themed exhibit, while the outdoor area will have a beach-themed exhibit for the endangered Black-Footed Penguin species from South Africa.

The exhibit should also be climate controlled for the Penguins to feel right at home and happy, especially the Antarctica Penguin species. The new Penguin should also be located where the Lemur Island exhibit is currently right now, which is near American Trail and the Smokey the Bear exhibit.
