Save Late Night at Elon!!!

The Issue

Late Night - the beloved Elon tradition on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays where we can receive our favorite free foods at McEwen.  The creation of Late Night serves the purpose of serving food to 1) students leaving parties; 2) students staying up late from studying; 3) students who were unable to get to the dining halls in time for dinner; 4) students who want an alternative social gathering instead of partying; and 5) midnight snackers.

In particular, Late Night is so important to the students at Elon as it encourages students to follow safety measures when making the choice to drink (Ex:  You are not supposed to drink on an empty stomach.).  Furthermore, it helps stimulate academically-inclined students by proving them resources and nourishment as they execute their studies.  It finally acts as an alternative spot for students to gather with their friends to share a meal and a laugh, often followed by movie gatherings or dorm games.  In any case, Late Night is central to student life at Elon - both socially and academically.

And yet, there is a supervisor, considerably high up in the administration, that is looking to get rid of Late Night.  This man supposedly believes that it serves no real use to the student body and that it is a waste of time.  If we do not fight back now, it is possible that Late Night will NOT reopen its doors in the spring...or ever again.

Please help us fight back and PROVE how valuable Late Night is to the students of Elon University by signing this petition.

Thank you.
