We call for a change in the User Agreement for the Isle of Man Steampacket to reserve 6 seats on every sailing for foot passenger / a couple of vehicle spaces at a saver fare rate for medical emergencies.

Please  help to make a change for others. It won't help Ellie or the many others before Ellie who have had to pay normal rate fares to get off the Isle of Man in a medical emergency or like in the Ellie's case there is no room on the boat for a small dachshund who had lost the use of her back legs and her human dad be it in a vehicle or on foot.

We will always be in debt to the act of kindness of a passenger who offered to take Ellie over on the boat whilst her dad made a frantic flight booking to Liverpool, hired a car and then drove to Heysham to meet the ferry to then drive to Kendal where a team were on standby to meet Ellie and her owner.

By which time her Ellie's condition had deteriorated from 50/50 to regaining the use of her back legs to a low chance.

Ellie had her surgery stayed several days in the animal hospital and today will arrive back home for a long road of recovery and rehabilitation.
