Please continue to stay active and keep the signatures coming. We are also trying to raise money through donations that will help with the costs of postage fees for mass mailings and for advertising fees for billboards. A billboard can be seen by thousands of people daily and can make a huge impact. It is critical to keep the bears in the hearts and minds of all New Jersey residents. The best way to keep the issue alive is through advertising. Any donation that you can make would be very much appreciated.

ACTION NEEDED
"Do Your Part for Bears" 2015
On December 16, 2014 the state released what they want for the next five years.
Instead of ending the madness of this trophy hunt, they are talking about the following:
Expanding dates for bear hunting
Allowing more than one bear to be killed per person
Adding bow and arrow
Shotguns and muzzleloaders are already allowed.
Opening up more zones, statewide
Keeping the policy vague to make changes without going through proper channels
And more. . .
The timeline is moving faster than in 2010. By April, the state expects to have the plan in the NJ Register, hold a hearing in May, and end the 60-day public comment period in June.
We need to work on this immediately in 2015, and.... WE NEED YOU TO STAND WITH US! More information to come soon.
ADDITIONAL ACTION: Please continue to write letters, email and call the Governor 609-292-6000 and express your outrage over the bear hunt. Ask him to STOP pandering to this violent minority, which is less than 0.07% of New Jersey’s population.
Senator Raymond Lesniak’s (D-20) BEAR SMART legislation (S687) corrects the state’s failure to organize, implement, and enforce non-lethal solutions preferred by 74% of New Jersey registered voters.
Senator Lesniak’s legislation incorporates the best science as recommended by leading biologists.
Staying active and working together will help create change.
Thank you for your dedication to black bears.
