On December 16, 2014 the state released what they want for the next five years. Instead of ending the madness of this trophy hunt, they are talking about the following: • Expanding dates for bear hunting • Allowing more than one bear to be killed per person • Adding bow and arrow. Shotguns and muzzleloaders are already allowed. • Opening up more zones, statewide • Keeping the policy vague to make changes without going through proper channels • And more. . . The timeline is moving faster than in 2010. By April, the state expects to have the plan in the NJ Register, hold a hearing in May, and end the 60-day public comment period in June.
