Fund NJ Transit Now to avert financial Devastation

The Issue

Although no less than TWO Presidential Emergency Boards have been called to settle a 5 year long contract dispute between the Railroad Unions and NJ Transit, NJ Transit Rail Operations Corporation has REFUSED to accept their findings. The Union coalition has agreed to the terms allotted by the Presidential Emergency Boards, but NJ Transit has refused to act. NJTRO wishes to increase the cost paid by Union Families for their health care by as much as 600% WITHOUT a significant wage increase for Union Members to counter balance the loss of this income. This wage package, suggested by NJ Transit, coupled with the increase in healthcare that they demand is going to net out to only equal .6% annual wage increase over 7 years. After waiting for 5 years, Union Members are considering utilizing their legal right to STRIKE in protest of this gross lack of respect for hard working Union employees, beginning on March 13th of 2016. The NJ State Legislature must ACT NOW to avert a devastating disruption to commuter rail service throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
