Dear Friends:

Today, the Washington Post released their in-depth article that takes readers on the journey of Tiffany's life from childhood to her trafficking and ultimately her arrest.  We worked closely with the reporter and have heard from Tiffany that she feels good about the article: https://lnkd.in/gWgftsr7

What Tiffany and all of us at Karana Rising hope is that this article will inspire other survivors who are or have experienced incarceration will speak up. We hope more attorneys will consider the level of pro bono support that it takes to accomplish freeing a survivor like Tiffany.  Susan Coppedge, her pro bono attorney who joined us in 2020 along with so many advocates, including our co-founder Fecha Talaso, and former law enforcement came together to make this possible.

For Tiffany and I, it all began with her letter, which I still carry in my journey to remind myself that together we can push for a society where no survivor has to experience injustice Tiffany did.  We had no idea this would be a ten year journey but here we are and I could not be more proud of Tiffany or honored to stand with her as a person and in my role as co-founder of Karana Rising.

THANK YOU for continuing to support us, Tiffany and survivors who need us. I hope you can find the time to read and share this incredibly beautiful story.  We will soon transition this page as a national campaign to advance survivor justice. Stay tuned, dear friends!

With gratitude,

Andrea - with Tiffany and the Karana Rising community
