Hello Friends,
On Monday, February 15, 2016 Dr. Alie Kabba, a prominent Chicago resident who has been held by the Government of Sierra Leone since December 23, 2015, appeared before the High Court in Freetown in a hasty arraignment that surprised many. After a few minutes of arguments the Court postponed the case by yet another month. This is all in a deliberate attempt to delay and deny Dr. Kabba a fair and speedy trial.
I want to thank the many of you who have joined this petition to urge the United States Government through the State Department and President Obama to secure the freedom of Dr. Alie Kabba.
It has now become increasingly apparent that the delay in adjudicating this politically-motivated case is a deliberate attempt by the Government of Sierra Leone to scuttle Dr. Kabba's presidential campaign and impose on him unbearable financial constraints to underwrite the cost of said litigation.
We have therefore established a public fundraising campaign at gofund.me/x5hcz2z8 to help defray the legal costs on behalf of Dr. Kabba. Please visit the fundraising site and donate to free Dr. Kabba.
I thank you for your continued support and for our collective determination to denounce tyranny in Sierra Leone and ensure the rule of law and socioeconomic justice for all.
With Kind Regards.
