Meantime a prominent California lawyer Alieu Iscandari, also an American citizen, was arrested in court for criticizing the proceedings. President Ernest Bai Koroma and his APC government have again demonstrated their willingness to ignore the constitution of Sierra Leone with the continued violation of the basic human rights of their people in accordance with the Geneva Convention to which Sierra Leone is a signatory.
