Friends,
A few minutes ago the Magisterial Court in Freetown imposed on Dr. Kabba the stiffest bail conditions in the history of Sierra Leone. All travel documents must be surrendered to the government, he cannot leave Freetown for the provinces, he cannot criticize the president and the government, his travel is limited from his home to the police station which he must do daily.
Meantime a prominent California lawyer Alieu Iscandari, also an American citizen, was arrested in court for criticizing the proceedings.
President Ernest Bai Koroma and his APC government have again demonstrated their willingness to ignore the constitution of Sierra Leone with the continued violation of the basic human rights of their people in accordance with the Geneva Convention to which Sierra Leone is a signatory.
We are calling on world governments and all human rights organizations to pay attention to what is happening in Sierra Leone. We must act now to prevent a full-blown crisis.
Thank you for your continued support.
