My "mother's heart" is full of gratitude for those who hear and see me. Those who have signed and shared this petition. Yet, I remain aware of the fact that we have a long way to go to get the attention of our elected officials. As a mother of two African American sons, one who is currently warehoused behind prisons walls, I am consistently aware of the inequalities and injustices that they face, simply because they exist. Mass incarceration is one of the many systemic fallacies in this world. 

Let's do ALL that we can for ALL of our children as they maneuver through this unfair journey.
