Absolutely fantastic to see the petition leap forward by 141 signatures since Sunday 10th May 2026, with the petition now sitting at 1308 as of Tuesday 12th May 2026!

Thank you to all who have signed so far, but please keep up the good work and sharing it with friends and family!

Using this direct rail route could mean Blyth Bebside to Berwick Upon Tweed in as little as 50 minutes, beating the best current public transport connections by at least 24 minutes (10:16 on the No.2 bus from 'big Asda' in Blyth, then the 10:53 CrossCountry from Morpeth, arriving at Berwick Station at 11:25), with many connections significantly longer than this.

A direct rail route would make it a 'single seat ride'; get on at Blyth Bebside, and out at Berwick, or other destinations such as Alnmouth, or Edinburgh, no change of train at Central Station required,  no luggage to haul around the station, worrying about getting separated from the kids, or if working on the go, a chance to open the laptop up and make a start whilst passing over the River Blyth.

About 15-17 mins after boarding at Blyth Bebside, the train would pass through Hepscott, then join the ECML near to Bothal Viaduct approaching Pegswood station, then it would be a fast run northwards to wherever your destination may be...

...lets see this route happen, please sign the petition, but also reach out to your local councillors and MP's too and share this with them.
