Some kid in my class was trash talking my metal straws. So I started a petition to prove that people do think straws affect the environment. [take that] ;)

No but really, plastic straws are really bad for the ocean. We use over 500 million every day in America, and most of those end up in our oceans, polluting the water and killing marine life. These straws also can't be recycled as they are too small and slip through the cracks of waste management. We need to encourage people to stop using plastic straws for good. If we don’t act now, by the year 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Help make a change by skipping the straw and signing the petition.
