Make a statue of Emperor Palpatine and place it in his home town: Carnoustie, Scotland

The Issue

The Emperor of the great GALACTIC EMPIRE, has a humble origins in the Scottish town of CARNOUSTIE. It is imperative for us, to get this GREAT man, Chancellor, Supreme Chancellor, GALACTIC EMPEROR, a massive statue in his BIRTH PLACE.

It is very important to get the SENATE a statue!

---

Essentially, it would be great if the local golf course would work with Angus Council and the Scottish government to commission a bronze statue of Ian McDiarmid and place it in Carnoustie to honor his many contributions to movies, theater and charity. (With enough support nationally and internationally a lot of fundraising can be done.)

Ian McDiarmid was born and grew up in Carnoustie! He went to university in Dundee and in Glasgow! He has a long standing connection with Scotland.

The statue would be a great way to attract Star Wars fans to the town and help jumpstart the economy there. Tens of thousands of fans visiting Carnoustie would be great for the high street. Having the world famous golf course and the Star Wars statue together, along with a future Ian McDiarmid festival would ensure Carnoustie becoming a global tourism spot.

Make a statue of Emperor Palpatine and place it in his home town: Carnoustie, Scotland

Ian McDiarmid is a phenomenal actor and is considered one of Scotland's best. Appearing in countless films for decades, Ian has an impressive filmography and theater works. With his most iconic role being that of Emperor Palpatine from George Lucas' Star Wars Prequel, Original Trilogy and Disney's Sequel trilogy. Regardless of what you think of the Prequel Trilogy, most people will say that Ian has done brilliantly. He made Senator Palpatine the popular character he is today. And I think he deserves something for it.

A life size statue of Emperor Palpatine in one of the most iconic golf towns of Scotland: Carnoustie.

Carnoustie is a small town on the Angus coast between Dundee and Arbroath, famed for its championship golf course.

The famous Carnoustie links has proved a magnetic challenge for golfers of all standards. It was the scene of local lad Paul Lawrie's heroics in the 1999 Open Championship, when he lifted the famous claret jug.

While golfers test their skills on the varying courses in and around Carnoustie, swimming, sailing, windsurfing and fishing can be enjoyed at the bay. Carnoustie Gala Week is the highlight of the summer (apart from when the the Open comes to town)!

A statue of Emperor Palpatine would be rather fitting, given the towns amazing connections to films and theater!

Material wise, the statue should be made of bronze made by the iconic artist Lawrence Noble.

It would also have its benefits too, as the town would increase in popularity. You would have Star Wars fans from around the world coming to Scotland to see the 'Dark side'.

I think this would be a perfect way to honour Ian McDiarmid, a statue of his most iconic character on Scotland's golf legend.
