I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. And I hope this email finds you well.
I wanted to reach out today to share my friends GoFundMe, Brita Turner.
Brita has been working in the Austin bar scene for years, and could quite literally school me in any subject. She’s been a great ally to me through or our friendship and during my own hard times.
Although we haven’t fixed the issues at kitty cohens yet, and it’s hard during this times of uncertainty not only for me but also my ex coworkers still in the shop.
The demands we asked for were very minimal, just to bring our wages up to a fair and livable standard. And unfortunately this isn’t just our problem in our bar, but a problem many of us in Austin face.
Brita and her partner have spent countless hours supporting me these past days. I really hope we can make sure Brita and her family stay safe and housed while they transition into a new safe work environment.
