Stand with the Lisu people - Rejecting the actions of the Lisu Army in Myanmar

We kindly request your solidarity in supporting the Lisu people as they peacefully voice their concerns against the actions carried out by the armed group led by U Shwe Min, who operates under the military in Myanmar.

Despite being a minority in Myanmar, the Lisu people take pride in their identity. However, due to the grave injustices committed by the armed forces led by U Shwe Min, the Lisu community feels compelled to express their dissatisfaction with the lack of inclusion of their consent. In light of this, we kindly request global awareness and support in addressing this urgent matter.

Our communities are currently dealing with significant challenges as a result of the Myanmar military's coup and armed violence. Furthermore, the actions of U Shwe Min's armed forces have placed pressure on the Lisu people and negatively impacted their reputation. The decision of U Shwe Min's armed forces to support the Burmese military, which intends to seize power through force, has had a detrimental effect on the situation faced by the Lisu people. These actions have caused unrest and compromised the dignity and values of the Lisu community, which is deeply disheartening and goes against the fundamental ethics of our people.

It is unfortunate that U Shwe Min's armed forces have made the decision to align themselves with the military regime, which is causing oppression in our country through the use of weapons. They have taken actions that go against the values of dignity and the desires of the Lisu people, choosing to collaborate with the coup army. These actions involve coercing money from our community and forcibly recruiting individuals for their army and the coup d'état, as well as backing the military's violent and repressive measures.

We kindly express our strong objection to the notion that the self-proclaimed Lisu Army truly represents our Lisu community. The actions carried out by U Shwe Min's armed forces have greatly hindered the freedom of speech and expression, and have disrupted the peaceful coexistence we strive for. Their intentions seem to only breed division and suppress others through the use of weapons. As a community, we firmly believe in fostering harmonious relationships with all ethnic groups in Myanmar, and we firmly denounce any form of violence against our fellow Lisu individuals or any others.

Today, we kindly express that the actions of U Shwe Min's armed forces do not truly reflect the values and beliefs of the Lisu people. We have formally conveyed our strong disapproval and declared our stance against this group. We humbly request the international community to join us in upholding justice and preserving the dignity of all the people in Myanmar.

Your support is greatly valued. People from all over the world are expressing their strong disapproval of the actions carried out by U Shwe Min's armed group and the military regime they endorse. We kindly urge organizations and government officials to collaborate and extend their assistance. Together, we can put an end to this vicious cycle of violence and work towards reinstating hope for a harmonious and equitable future for all ethnic communities in Myanmar.
