Stand with Mercer County Educators
The Issue
Tell the School Board: Vote YES for a Fair Contract
Mercer County educators do more than teach. They shape the heart of this community. They show up early, stay late, comfort the crying kindergartener, support the overwhelmed fourth grader, and guide our kids with patience, creativity, and grit. They are the steady hands behind every student’s growth.
And yet, they are the lowest paid teachers in the entire ROE #33 region.
That’s not just disappointing. It’s disrespectful. It sends a clear message that their dedication doesn’t matter and that their role in this community is somehow less than what it truly is: essential.
The Mercer County Education Association has presented a fair, competitive contract proposal to the School Board’s negotiations team. It’s not asking for more than what surrounding districts offer. It’s asking for the same respect. The same investment. The same basic recognition that this job is hard, and it’s done with heart.
Approving this contract would show that Mercer County values its educators and takes pride in the quality of education our kids receive.
But as of now, just days before school starts our teachers still don’t have a contract. That means they could walk into their classrooms on day one without knowing when or if they’ll be paid. And they’ll do it anyway, because that’s who they are.
It’s time for the board to do the right thing.
✅ Sign this petition to urge the School Board to vote YES on the MCEA contract proposal.

Because when we fight for our teachers, we fight for our kids. And we are not backing down.
