The Issue

Market Basket is in crisis again. And just like in 2014, it’s up to the workers and customers who built this company to save it.

Paul Quigley — a supervisor who’s worked at Market Basket for 44 years — was suspended after asking questions about the company's direction. His “disruption”? Wanting to know why beloved CEO Arthur T. Demoulas was suddenly placed on leave and why longtime leaders are being pushed out.

This is the same Paul Quigley who showed up at 5:30 a.m. on July 4 to do his job, just like he’s done for decades. Instead of answers, he got suspended. Instead of transparency, the board gave silence. Instead of leadership, they gave fear.

This isn’t just about one worker. It’s about what’s happening to the soul of Market Basket — a company known for treating workers and customers like family. The very people who made Market Basket different are now being sidelined, silenced, or pushed out.

We’ve seen this before. And last time, we made history. Customers and employees stood shoulder to shoulder in one of the most successful boycotts New England has ever seen — and we brought Artie T. back.

It’s time to do it again.

We call on the Market Basket Board of Directors to:

  • Reinstate Paul Quigley immediately
  • Bring Arthur T. Demoulas back as CEO
  • Stop retaliating against employees who speak up
  • Commit to transparency about the future of the company

This company thrives because of its people — not because of boardroom deals or short-term profits.

Sign if you stand with Market Basket workers and loyal customers. Share if you believe in the power of community over corporate control.
