Dear Congress Woman/Congressman,

We are writing to you as constituents and concerned citizens.

Following the murder of Mahsa Amini, a 22 year old woman by the morality police, Iranian people have taken to the streets to voice their cries for freedom, protesting a despotic regime that has brutally treated its citizens for 43 years and has made the world a less safe place by terrorist acts as well as vehement support of terrorism.

During their iron fist rule in Iran the Islamic regime has in fact been on of the most egregious violators of human rights. The protestors are faced with brutal suppression and many have been and are currently getting shot and killed on the streets. This includes young children and teenagers.

Now their demand  is nothing less than an end to Islamic Republic regime and to replace it with a democratic government with values of liberty and justice and to be a friendly member of the international community.

We ask you to stand with freedom seeking people of Iran by putting pressure on President Biden to stop negotiating with a terrorist regime and to strongly support the Iranian People’s movement. We expect this support to be in strong, tangible and calculable ways such as:

1. To Continue and to amplify sanctions of all organizations connected to the Islamic Republic government and IRGC. This should include all companies and lobbying groups across the world that continue to do business with Islamic Republic. Congress should pass legislation that helps guarantee these sanctions.

2. Congress should put pressure on the president to stop negotiating with a state sponsor of terror. This legitimizes a regime that has lost all legitimacy with its own people. Congress and the administration should consider the strong possibility that Islamic Republic may not be in power in the coming weeks or months. A strong Democratic Iran will be peace loving member of the International community  and the nuclear issue will be moot under those conditions.

As voters, we are paying close attention to how each and every member of the congress, from either Democratic and Republican parties, is going to address the issue of Iran. This is a bipartisan effort and those signing this letter are members of both parties as well as independents.

We hope that you hear our request in this letter as concerned citizens and not to lend an ear to those who want the regime to survive.

As voters the issue of  a free and democratic Iran is of grave importance to us will greatly influence how we vote.

If we don’t see a firm response and support of Iranian protesters in the form of tangible actions, we will reflect our dissatisfaction in the next election.

ما امضاکنندگان این بیانیه، شهروندان ایرانی-آمریکایی نگران اوضاع در ایران هستیم!

مردم ایران به خیابان ها آمده اند تا خواسته خود برای داشتن آزادی را فریاد کنند و به رژیمی که ۴۳ سال به طور وحشیانه با شهروندان خود رفتار نموده اعتراض نمایند. این رژیم نه تنها ایرانیان را وحشیانه سرکوب نموده است بلکه جهان را با سیاستهای آشوب طلبانه و حمایت از تروریسم محلی و بین الملل نا امن برای تمام جهانیان ساخته است! 

معترضان در خیابان با سرکوب شدید رژیم مواجه و به آنها در خیابان شلیک می شود! کشته شدگان شامل کودکان و نوجوانان نیز میباشند!

خواسته کنونی معترضان چیزی کمتر از پایان یافتن رژیم جمهوری اسلامی و جایگزینی آن با یک حکومت دموکراتیک که به ارزش‌های آزادی و عدالت احترام گذاشته و روابطی دوستانه با جامعه بین الملل داشته باشد، نیست!

ما از شما خواهان آن هستیم که در کنار مردم ایران بایستید و به پرزیدنت بایدن فشار آورید تا گفتگوها را با این رژیم تروریستی متوقف نموده و بطور جدی از حرکت مردم معترض ایران حمایت نماید!

ما انتظار داریم که این حمایت، جدی و محسوس و‌ از طرق قابل لمسی مانند موارد زیر باشد: ادامه تحریم ها و تشدید آنها بر علیه رژیم وسپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی و همه شرکت ها و گروه های لابی رژیم در سراسر جهان که همچنان ارتباط خود را با رژیم جمهوری اسلامی ادامه می دهند و تصویب لایحه قانونی ای که این فشارها را تضمین نماید!

به عنوان رای دهنده، ما با دقت و ریزبینی آنچه که هر یک از شما در کنگره و سنا، در هر دو حزب دموکرات و جمهوریخواه در رابطه باایران انجام میدهید را زیر نظر خواهیم داشت! 

این نامه یک حرکت فراجناحی است و از طرف هر دو طیف رای دهندگان دموکرات و جمهوری خواهان و نیز افراد مستقل امضا شده است.

ما امیدواریم که شما صدای ما شهروندان نگران را بشنوید و خواسته های ما را مقدم بر سفارشات و تلاش های کسانی قرار دهید که خواهان باقی ماندن این رژیم هستند!

اگر ما شاهد پاسخ جدی و حمایت محسوس از معترضان ایرانی نباشیم، ناخرسندی خود را در انتخابات آینده نشان خواهیم داد!
