Stand With Assault Victims Failed by Fort Worth Hotel Staff Negligence

Stand With Assault Victims Failed by Fort Worth Hotel Staff Negligence

The Issue

No one should have to fear for their safety behind a locked hotel room door. But in Fort Worth, two women were violated in the place they trusted to keep them safe—all because a hotel employee allegedly gave a stranger access to their room using a master key.

According to a civil lawsuit, a man the women briefly spoke with outside the hotel claimed to be the husband of “the redhead.” The front desk attendant, without verifying his identity or checking if he was a guest, walked him to their room and unlocked the door for him. One woman was later sexually assaulted while her friend was in the shower. The man fled and still hasn’t been caught.

This isn’t just about one horrifying night. It’s about a system that failed—about hotels that don’t train their staff, don’t verify identities, and don’t protect their guests. It could have been anyone.

We demand that MCR Hotels and all affiliated properties immediately implement stricter security protocols, mandatory staff training, and clear guest verification procedures. We also demand transparency, accountability, and public safety commitments from the hotel industry.

Sign now to support these women and to help ensure this never happens again. When a locked hotel door can be opened by negligence, none of us are truly safe.
