On August 11, 2020, we had a hearing with Special Master Giron in Cibola County 13th District Court in Grants, NM against an illegal real estate company, Santa Rita Land and Cattle Company LLC. We had recently filed a number of complaints to several state organizations and departments regarding violations that have been brought to the attention of the court but Special Master Giron was not interested in honoring the facts that our human and civil rights have been violated. She was also not interested in holding off on her decision until the proper jurisdictional authorities were involved. 

Additionally, Gary Blum, one of the Santa Rita owners and a Real Estate Broker, claimed under oath that he doesn't sell real estate he sells land. But when we asked him why we could see properties on his website for sale that have homes, living spaces, and structures on them he lied and said "those properties haven't been sold yet." Why is this important? It speaks to the fact that this company and Broker have been selling real estate illegally, and without paying gross receipt taxes, for 20 years in New Mexico. Mr. Blums outward purgery on the stand goes to show (1) Santa Rita does not deserve the land as tax evaders (2) Mr. Blum has a habit of "misrepresenting the facts" (3) white people who hate us in this county will purger themselves at the mere opportunity to kick black/brown people out of the area. 

Special Master Giron ordered that we pay this illegal real estate company $24,000 by September 1st. Giron didn't require any proof or ledgers of the amount being requested, Giron disregarded the fact that Santa Rita can not furnish a rental agreement, she disregarded the fact that Santa Rita outwardly denied the last payment we attempted to make in August 2018, and didn't require any proof of the taxes due on the properties. This is how the decision went:

Giron: "About how much would you say is due to Santa Rita?"

Lawyer: "We estimate around roughly $24,000 your honor."

Giron: "Ok!"

We were so shocked that that lack of accuracy that was required, the lack of at least 30 days to make the payment, we are being asked to come up with the money in 20 days which is actually less because the order still has not been signed or filed by the Special Master and we still have a rightful 10 days to appeal the decision. It was appalling, it was like we weren't even there, like our input didn't matter at all, like the Special Master had already made up her mind before we even stepped foot in the courtroom. That paired with her eye-rolling towards us and allowing Santa Rita's male lawyers speak over Cristina every opportunity they got, the lack of disrespect and outward retaliation toward us for speaking up on the civil injustices of her order was all we needed to see that even the people who are making decisions are biased against us and doing their best to discourage us from pressing on to fight this illegal company. 

Nevertheless, we are not giving up and will continue to fight. WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!
