Google Must Respect History: Restore "Persian Gulf" on All Maps

We, the undersigned, respectfully ask Google to acknowledge historical and cultural truth by using the correct name "Persian Gulf" across all of its services, including Google Maps.

The name Persian Gulf is rooted in thousands of years of history, supported by international treaties, historic maps, academic references, and a global consensus. The use of alternative or fabricated names is not only inaccurate but also disrespectful to the heritage and identity of millions of people.

We urge Google to:

Immediately correct any instances where the name Persian Gulf has been replaced or altered;

Refrain from using politically motivated or distorted names in place of historically accurate terminology;

Uphold its responsibility as a global technology leader to reflect facts, not political bias, in its geographic content.

The Persian Gulf has always been — and will always be — the Persian Gulf.
