Recently I asked if supporters would be happy to contact the list of Labor members I had typed up in a pdf.
I knew many would do it but the response was unbelievable and I’m still receiving emails from people requesting the list of members.
I’ve received over 1100 emails from all over the world wanting the PDF. If for some reason you sent a request but I didn’t reply, please email me again.
I did get a bit swamped and lost in the vast emails, I asked people to send me any replies from the Politicians, but I had to stop that I just couldn’t keep up.
The replies from most Labor members were a duplicate email with the same wording. It is the policy the Labor party released last election, it’s about ending Live Sheep Export with no mention of ending Live Animal Export completely, it’s a start though.
I am hoping the Labor Party will speak out about Live Animal Export during their election campaign. and the email responses state that is what will happen. It’s our job to make sure they do!
I asked people if they would stand outside their local members office with a sign saying STOP Live Animal Exports or similar. I suggested Thursday’s between 2pm and 4pm just for 1/2 an hour or so. However if you’re willing to do it, any day, any time will be fine.
A few people have done it and a few others want to do it but some feel they’d prefer to go with another person, I understand not everyone could do this solo or even do it at all.
I have a supporter in the Turramurra area who would be like to stand outside the Labor office but would prefer to go with another person, if you live near Turramurra and are happy to do it, please contact me and I’ll sort it out.
I also have a supporter in the Lyon electorate who would like to go to the local members office but feels it’s best to go with someone, if that is you, again please let me know and I’ll sort it.
If anyone can print an A4 sign off and put it out in their community for the next Awareness Day, it would be a great help. Email or text me and I’ll send you the picture.
This is the last Sydney Awareness Day before the election.
It looks like we (hubby and me) will be in Melbourne mid June to do another Awareness Day. If anyone down there can contact me and suggest a better area than Federation Square, I’ll try and get a spot there but I need to know sooner rather than later, organising one of these days involves far more than you’d think, some states are worse than others….
Fremantle and Townsville are in full Live Animal Export mode now, Portland and apparently Broome are also moving animals via ships to other countries..
The Jawan loaded thousands of animals today in Fremantle in 33 degree heat, the exporters just don’t care, to them they are “only animals”
This industry is becoming stronger once again, it’s our job to let more people know about this torture trade, so PLEASE I am begging that we all aim to educate at minimum 1 person a week.
SOME POSITIVE NEWS
I have had some people contact me saying they saw banners in certain places and others saying they saw a sticker, this is such great news.
I purchased 45 banners for people, 48 in total went out, some people paid for their own banner - so to get some feedback is heart warming
