Last Saturday (2nd of November) was the last Stand Against Live Export Awareness Protest. We had around 19 people turn up, not nearly enough to lead a rebellion but a terrific number to raise awareness and raise awareness we did. To those people who turned up, THANK YOU xx.
The stickers were a real hit, I gave them away free and it peaked people’s interest, (funny how you say “free stickers” and people become interested) but I didn’t care, it’s about spreading the word. On my holiday I plan on leaving flyers in public places and stickers out and about too.
I’m sure most of you know, the lies, smoke and mirrors concerning the Live Export Trade are being used relentlessly, in fact if anything this trade has become even more brutal and disgusting, who’d have thought it possible....... The latest news is the sheep shipment was a success and “minimal” (almost laughable) sheep perished. So minimal deaths on the ships are ok because “they won’t be tortured or driven for hours in 40 degree heat in a car boot” it’s absolutely ludicrous.
I wish I had the answers, I wish I could hand on heart say “this will end sometime soon” but I honestly cannot say that, the one thing I can say is “I will never give up”, I do have a number of critics, they feel what I do is pointless or not enough and I should lead a rebellion.....but what those people don’t realise is I put my time, my physical and emotional well-being and my money into this and it takes a toll on myself, my family and our time together. If you have a problem opt out, I won’t be upset.
I am back to trying to find a way to have this petition recognised properly in parliament, I’ll post more about that next time. Please keep phoning, emailing, writing and educating - we must never lay down our swords xx
Dates for next years Awareness Protests 7/3. 13/6. 26/09 & 12/12....xx Same Place, Same Program...xx
