Victory! The ad is down. Now, about that apology.

We did it.
The Columbus Dispatch has just reported that Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign is officially no longer airing the attack ad featuring Dr. Amy Acton’s estranged mother.
When we launched this petition a few days ago, we were told that a multi-million-dollar political campaign wouldn't flinch at a local alumni letter. But 3,217 of you stood up anyway. You proved that decency and character still matter, and that the "Men for Others" standard is more than just words on a crest.
Taking this ad off the air is a massive win for basic human dignity in our politics, and it is a direct result of this community drawing a line in the sand.
But our call was twofold: pull the ad and apologize. To date, Vivek Ramaswamy has offered no apology for weaponizing documented childhood trauma. The ad may be gone, but the failure of character that allowed it to be produced remains unaddressed.
We will continue to hold the line on what true leadership looks like. But for today: thank you for speaking out, sharing this effort, and forcing a change.
With gratitude,
Brian Cahill & the organizing alumni
