Our loved one is living in an abandoned home in the Eastwood neighborhood of Syracuse with another former homeless person. 

The focus remains on the incompetent mental health care she received at St Joseph's Hospital in November as a contributing factor to her landing in the place she is.  This isn't the first time St Joe's has demonstrated failure to treat the most vulnerable.

A federal case recently brought to my attention describes where doctors were investigated for charging patients for more doctors performing/assisting in operations. One doctor/surgeon would smear blood on a another's white coat as a marker of evidence that they assisted with an operation when they had not. They would then remove their coat and place it in the surgery bin to demonstrate false evidence. The doctor would then put on another coat and the process of fraud would continue. 

These investigations of illegal actions and failure to competently treat patients date back a decade for St Joseph's Hospital. The PR Dept for St Joe's continues to promote the hospital as ranking #1 in our Region. I question the source for these ranking statistics.  

I continue to plead with our County and State officials to research the VT model for Healthcare services and insurance..  It is time we insist that the Healthcare facilities & health insurance companies shift their focus from being FOR PROFIT to FOR CARE.  This is taking on Goliath  I know, but calling them out is a step in the right direction.
