As of Thursday I have been informed that our loved one falsely said during a phone call held by a SW from St Joe's she is engaged to a man (94 yrs) in CA who has a woman living with him will send her a plane ticket and an escort to accompany her. No one, family or friends, have ever even heard of this person. He has a lifelong criminal record.  She has no ID to travel. (Human trafficking?)  St Joe's is not permitted to release her without inspecting the residence she claims to be going to. They don't have an address where she is going to because she doesn'thave one. They said they plan on getting the address she planned to go to from the Lyft Driver. How can this be?  The hospital has not facilitated a family meeting that was requested to help her. She is homeless and will be living on the streets.  She is in serious danger and the hospital will not return calls from family saying we do not have consent. She puts herself and other people in danger as well as making serious threats. The family has called the hospital and left numerous messages giving background information but nothing happens. The Doctors don't seem to be getting the input from these calls. WE are her next of kin. She has no one else. St. Joe's is liable for her safety when she is discharged. It is their responsibility to release her into a safe environment where she will continue treatment for her Bipolar Illness. These steps have not been taken. We are asking for help, begging for help for her.
