Thanks for signing, we're nearing 500! I just wanted to let you guys know that Cornell (Ithaca, NY) and Georgetown (Washington DC) have both implemented the pass/fail grading system for their students. Their administration and leaders have taken into account the immeasurable and unquantifiable difficulties that students may experience at home, as well as how that will impact these students' academic success during this Spring 2020 semester. St. John's should do the same. Please share this petition with your fellow students and friends.

This isn't about individualism, it is about acknowledging the unforeseen circumstances that your peers may be experiencing right now. Put simply, the playing field is unequal right now. Due to the nature of higher education, it always will be... but right now, the discrepancy between high and low-income* students' experiences is bigger than ever. Some St. John's students are facing difficulties that you may not be able to imagine. If you're in a comfortable and privileged-enough position to say "I don't need pass/fail", why not sign the petition to help out less fortunate students who are part of our community?

*Not just income, though. Just using economic/financial background as an example.
