No queremos que traigan más delfines a morir al Delfinario Sonora

Gobernadora en el corto tiempo que usted lleva en el poder, se ha visto y se le reconoce que Usted es una Mujer de Principios y de palabra, las medidas que ha implementado en contra de la corrupción entre otras, son de aplaudirse, Es por esto que estamos hoy haciéndole llegar esta petición a usted ya que creemos que tiene sentido común y es congruente con su pensar su decir y su actuar.
Como Usted y todos saben el Delfinario Sonora guarda un obscuro pasado y muchos actos de corrupción, abuso de autoridad, despilfarro de recursos y negligencia. En el cambio de cada administración el delfinario ha sido rescatado una y otra vez, además en cuanto al manejo del PIMVS ( Predio o instalación para el manejo de Vida Silvestre) Ha habido un porcentaje muy alto de muertes de delfines en el poco tiempo que lleva operando, Los delfinarios son como los circos con animales los cuàles ya fueron prohibidos y a nivel mundial hay un movimiento “ EMPTY THE TANKS “ donde en muchos países se esta luchando para que el cautiverio de mamíferos marinos desaparezca, por lo tanto los delfinarios ya pasaron de moda y están a muy poco tiempo de desaparecer.
Los documentales recientes como The Cove, y Black fish han manifestado la crueldad que hay detrás de esta industria que no deja de ser una industria manipuladora con la mercadotecnia de la supuesta sonrisa de los delfines, los shows, los nados interactivos no son más que una forma de esclavitud para estos animales y una forma de lucrar para el beneficio de esta industria, El mito del beneficio que dan los delfines mediante las Delfino terapias o terapias asistidas por delfines, no es más que un fraude y una falsa promesa y esperanza para las familias de estos niños con discapacidad. No hay ninguna investigación científica que avale esto.
Nuestra petición es que quisiéramos que usted reevalúe y que se dé cuenta que los tiempos están cambiando y que un delfinario no es ni rentable ni tampoco queremos que vengan más delfines a morir a este delfinario. La propuesta es que se continúe con un proyecto diferente como un Acuario representativo del Mar de Cortes que sea rentable para el Gobierno y que sea Educativo, esto sería una mejor inversión a largo plazo, ya que el plan de negocios como delfinario no es atractivo sin embargo el plan de negocios como el Acuario de Mazatlán o el Sonoran Dessert Museum en Tucson, Arizona son un claro ejemplo de proyectos Viables y sustentables, Esto atraería más turismo.
“ El mar de Cortes fue nombrado por Jacques Yves Cousteau como el Acuario del Mundo, Porque no hay un acuario aquí? Hay una gran ausencia de cultura ambiental en el Estado y una falta de sensibilidad de pertenencia al medio ambiente que nos rodea. Y esto podría ayudar un poco a crear una conciencia ambiental en las personas.
Así como se prohibieron las corridas de toros por que no Sonora da el ejemplo a otros Estados y se une a decirle No al Cautiverio de Mamíferos Marinos, como en muchos Países del Mundo lo están haciendo.
Algunas de las razones por las cuales no queremos más delfines cautivos es por que :
1. Los delfines son Sociables, inteligentes no pertenecen al Cautiverio
2. Es una crueldad y abuso para los animales lucrar con ellos.
3. las terapias con delfines son un fraude, los delfines no curan
4. Los delfines en cautiverio se deprimen, se estresan y mueren

On February 5, Governor Claudia Pavlovich visited the Sonora Dolphinarium located on scenic highway Tinajas - San Carlos Nuevo Guaymas. On this visit the Governor unveiled the Rescue Project Sonora Dolphinarium which aims to make an investment of 40 million pesos.
Ms. governor in the short time you been in power, have shown yourself to be a woman of principles. The measures you have implemented against corruption should be applauded. That is why today we are making this request to you. We believe that you have demonstrated common sense in your words and actions as Governor.
As you and everyone knows the Sonora Dolphinarium has a dark past. There have been many acts of corruption, abuse of authority, waste of resources and neglect. At the turn of each 6 year administration the dolphinarium has had to be rescued again and again. During the management of this facility there has been a very high percentage of deaths of dolphins in the short time the facility has been open, dolphinariums are much like circuses with animals. In Mexico traveling circuses have already been banned and worldwide there is the movement "EMPTY THE TANKS" whose goal is to end the captivity of marine mammals from all ocean parks. Dolphinariums are going out of fashion and in a not to distant future hopefully dolphins will no longer be held in captivity.
Recent documentaries like The Cove, and Black fish have shown how cruel and manipulative this industry continues to be. The smile of a dolphin is nothing more than an anatomical illusion and yet is used as a marketing tool to make people thing dolphins are actually happy in captivity. Dolphins can neither smile nor frown. Swimming with dolphins (SWD) programs are nothing more than a form of slavery for these animals and a way to make a profit for the benefit of the entertainment industry. The benefit to disabled children from so called dolphin-assisted therapy (DAT) programs are a myth. Dolphin therapy is nothing more than a fraud and a false promise of hope for the families of children with disabilities. There is no scientific research that endorses this. Dolphins are not healers.
Our request is that we want you to reevaluate and realize that times are changing and that a dolphinarium is neither profitable nor popular and we do not want more dolphins to come and die at this dolphinarium. We proposal you continue with a different project that is more representative of the Sea of Cortes such as an aquarium which would be more profitable for the government and more educational. This would be a better long-term investment, since the business plan as a Dolphinarium is not attractive, but a business plan based on the Mazatlan Aquarium and the Sonoran Dessert Museum in Tucson, Arizona is a clear example of two viable and sustainable projects, that would attract more tourism.
"The Sea of Cortes was named by Jacques Cousteau as the Worlds Aquarium, why is there no aquarium here? There is a great lack of environmental culture in the state and a lack of feeling of belonging to the environment around us. And this could help a bit to create environmental awareness in people.
Just as bullfighting is now banned in Mexico why not have Sonora serve as an example to other states and say No to the Marine Mammals in Captivity, as are many countries all over the world now doing. .
Some of the reasons why we do not want more captive dolphins is that:
1. Dolphins are sociable, intelligent, predators, and do not belong in Captivity
2. It is a cruel and abusive for corporations to profit from them.
3. Dolphin-assisted therapy (DAT) programs are a fraud, dolphins are not healers
4. Dolphins in captivity become depressed, stressed out and die at early ages.
