In the last 6 months alone there have been two serious road traffic accidents resulting in a large police and paramedic presence the latest incident had the air ambulance involved as well.

Previous to that speeding drivers have caused damage to other cars, bollards and one even hit a lamppost! 

South Tyneside Council have deemed the road safe due to the average speed being 24 in a 20 zone but we the residents feel this does not reflect the drivers who blatantly flaunt the speed limit of 20mph and cause these accidents.

We feel we need speed bumps along from Salisbury Place and  Sea Winnings Way similar to those on Erskine, Bents Park Road and Hutton Row.

This estate has many young children and elderly residents and we should be taking all steps available to protect them and all of our residents from the ignorant minority !
