M&S have taken the ADUK illegal sticker and incorporated it into their signage, and had the cheek to add REGISTERED ASSISTANCE DOGS ONLY . This is 100% Discrimination by M&S.
Bellow is a letter penned to Chairman of M&S.
------------
Hi
I was shocked to see that M&S has been duped by ADUK and fallen for their lies and deceit.
If your company actually did their research before 100% discriminating against the disabled, you would have learned that the so called educating businesses information that ADUK sent out was illegal.
Firstly ADUK are not an official body that represents all assistance dogs within the UK. THEY ARE ONLY A COALITION OF JUST 7 CHARITIES. They are not LAW within the UK.
The equalities act 2010 incorporates the disability discrimination act. It also includes the access issues regarding assistance dogs
Nowhere in the act does it mention ADUK, or registered dogs and therefore it is not a legal requirement to be in ADUK.
Assistance Dogs are counted under the act as medical equipment and auxiliary aids. Just like a wheelchair or crutches would be.
We are aware that ADUK are sending out stickers as attached of which are illegal, yet Marks and Spencer have made the illegal stickers and added them onto your shops signage making your shop 100% discriminating against those with assistance dogs.
We demand that these signs are amended to just GUIDE/HEARING/ASSISTANCE DOGS ARE WELCOME
### THERE SHOULD BE NO MENTION OF ADUK, OR REGISTERED DOGS ONLY ###
Regards,
Shaun
