Update: The fight for Spanish hunting dogs is not over Many of you signed this petition a number of years ago to stand up for podencos, galgos and other hunting dogs in Spain. We wanted to share a quick but important update. Despite years of campaigning, these dogs are still excluded from basic animal protection laws in Spain. The system that allows them to be bred, used and discarded with little accountability has not yet changed. Right now, however, things are at a pivotal moment. The Spanish government is deciding on new regulations that could either begin to close this gap… or lock it in for years to come. At the same time, new legislation is being shaped at European level that could bring the same protections to all dogs, regardless of how they are used. In short, there are two very different futures on the table. And the decisions being made now will determine which one we get. Campaigners across Europe are pushing for one simple principle: Same dogs. Same rights. If you supported this cause before, your voice still matters now.
