Campaigners Demand Spain Ban Dolphin and Whale Captivity
Jelly Bean's death is now fuelling calls for national change in Spain. The Mares No Muros coalition is calling on the Spanish Government to ban the captivity and breeding of whales and dolphins and stop zoos importing more cetaceans into the country. The coalition is also demanding that Spain reject plans to transfer Wikie and Keijo, the last two orcas at Marineland Antibes in France, to Loro Parque in Tenerife. Jelly Bean died less than a month after being transferred from Marineland Canada to the Oceanogràfic in Valencia.
Moving whales and dolphins from one tank to another does not give them freedom. Now campaigners in Spain are demanding what we are demanding: an end to cetacean captivity. Please keep signing and sharing our petition.
