We have been reaching out to the Southpark Crossing property management team and their parent company (Churchill Forge Properties) for a few weeks to no avail. It appears Churchill Forge does not care to listen to the members of our community and will not be opening the facilities any time soon, nor will they offer any compensation.
We ask those who have signed the petition to take another stand and post negative reviews on Google, Facebook, etc. to demonstrate the dissatisfaction and frustration of the community to the property management team and Churchill Forge. They do not deserve our business in the future if they will not respect our community. We encourage everyone to voice their concerns directly to the Texas regional office at texas@churchillforge.com and to the Regional Director Malinda Walker at mwalker@churchillforge.com who are the decision makers for this policy change. Please be respectful when contacting them as violence or aggressive behavior will only hinder our cause.
I would like to remind everyone of the current COVID-19 situation in Austin. Gov. Abbott is allowing businesses in Austin to open up to 75% capacity and almost every other apartment complex has reopened their facilities.
According to the US Census (2019), there are 1.273 million residents in Travis County. There have been 30,265 cases of COVID-19 and 411 deaths in Travis County. This means that a mere 2.38% of the population in Travis County have contracted the virus and only 0.032% have died from COVID-19.

According to our lease agreement on page 3 of 8, section 19.1 under "While You're Living in the Apartment"; it states, "We may make reasonable changes to written rules, and those rules can become effective immediately if the rules are distributed and applicable to all units in the apartment community and do not change the dollar amounts on pages 1 or 2 of this Lease." The management team may make 'reasonable' changes... Does closing the facilities without any compensation for almost 6 months because of a death rate of 0.032% seem reasonable to you? Property Management is violating their own lease agreement by restricting our access with unreasonable changes to their rules.
If Churchill Forge continues to deny us access to the facilities, we plan to organize a peaceful protest at the community pool in the coming weeks while the weather is still warm. Please stay tuned for more information.
