Stop Edison Power Outages

The Issue

Southern California Edison is creating third world living conditions in Southern California for thousands of residents and causing massive economic damages each day they continue this behavior. They are a monopoly; consumers have no choice in this matter and we are absolutely fed up with this situation. Edison needs to do their part to fix their infrastructure and address the actual issue and not pass this burden to its consumers.

Shutting off power to thousands of SoCal residents is not the answer to preventing wildfires. Shutting off the power for multiple days at a time:

-Puts the elderly and those with medical issues at serious risk.

-Causes severe economic damage in the millions (perhaps billions as time goes on) to the local economy, forcing businesses to close and employees to go unpaid.

-School closures keep parents from being able to attend work, further damaging the economy and our childrens’ education.

—Many residents cannot afford food spoilage and subsequent costs to restock on necessities after an outage. Many residents simply cannot afford generators or alternative solutions.

-Lack of street lighting and power to traffic signals puts us all at a higher risk for crime and traffic accidents - this is arguably a greater risk to public safety than the potential fires they are trying to avoid.

Let’s make our voices heard. Please support this petition to get SoCal Edison to step up and do the right thing and end this unethical and unsafe practice of forced blackouts. They clearly do not have the public’s safety in mind.
