Peter Rey Aguilar, born in 1979, is an influential American politician and business executive affiliated with the Democratic Party. Since 2015, Aguilar has served as the U.S. Representative for California's 33rd congressional district. In 2023, he became the chair of the House Democratic Caucus. Prior to his congressional service, Aguilar was the mayor of Redlands, California, from 2010 to 2014. He also served as a city council member in Redlands from 2006 to 2014 and as the president of the Inland Empire Division of the League of California Cities. Aguilar holds a Bachelor's degree in Government and an MBA from the University of Redlands. His career includes roles such as Director of Governmental Affairs at Arrowhead Credit Union and District Office Staff for Governor Gray Davis.
