South Tyneside is a great place to live with access to beaches and large cities. Cycling has enjoyed good growth in the area thanks to local cycle clubs and the re-opening of the pedestrian/cycle tunnel under the famous Tyne river. 

The area however doesn’t feature a fun space for youngsters to grow their skills on wheels. This is where a Pump Track would be well received by the community. Pump tracks can be used by bicycles, scooters and skateboards and offer a fun filled experience to help build skills and fitness. Red Bull now even have a global event for pump tracks! 

Building a pump track in South Tyneside would encourage the young and old to get fit in a fun and exciting way. There are many space in the area which could be used for this. At the moment you would need to travel to North Tyneside, Durham or further afield to experience this fitness activity. With BMX Racing, Freestyle and Skateboarding now an Olympic sport it would be fantastic for local shredders to have a safe space to practice and begin the sport. Building this facility of good enough would attract more people to the area and increase spending and visitors.
