South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol tweeted on May 19, 2023, “Had a wonderful and productive meeting with Prime Minister @AlboMP. South Korea and Australia working together for free, peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Look forward to enhancing our Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership!”
The Korea Herald reported on July 11, 2023, “South Korea and NATO agreed on Tuesday to upgrade their partnership by expanding the scope of cooperation from traditional areas such as counterterrorism, disarmament and cyber defense to emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, space and missiles…. During the meeting, the Individual Tailored Partnership Plan was signed to strengthen comprehensive cooperation between Korea and NATO in 11 areas.”
In South Korea, there are numerous dog farms, slaughterhouses, markets, and restaurants where the dogs, who have been tortured their entire lives, end up being slaughtered in the most inhumane ways, such as by electrocution, hanging, or beating, and then thrown into boiling water – sometimes while they are still alive. In many places, dogs are being killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs; and this takes place in broad daylight.
We cannot stand by while South Korea continues to deceive us and inflict unimaginable cruelty on animals who consider humans guardians and companions. So we are now asking Australia and NATO members to urge South Korea to stop their nation's dog and cat meat industry – an illegal, brutal, and diabolical industry.
