Upcoming City Council Meeting - 08/05/19 @ 7pm, South Haven

Good morning lifeguard supporters!  I just wanted to give you a brief update.  I spoke to one of our South Haven City Council members yesterday and was informed that discussion on lifeguards as part of our beach safety protocol has been added to the agenda for this coming City Council meeting!  I am considering this a major positive.  This means that those of us who will be speaking on the matter of lifeguards will not need to sign up to speak in open forum and will not necessarily be kept to 5 minute maximum as open forum presentations are.  Additionally, I am able to bring some materials and slides with me to present which will then be archived with the meeting minutes.

We plan to discuss the petition and represent all of your voices and concerns.  I will also provide some analytics on the signatures showing what areas of the state/country/world signatures came from.  Additionally we will provide updated stats on the same data sets that they used to argue against the need for lifeguards in the past and information on the effectiveness of lifeguards in concert with the type of specialized first response team that we are blessed to have in South Haven.
