South Burnett council must join Land for Wildlife
The issue
South Burnett council is avoiding joining the Land for Wildlife scheme which is vital to help landholders gain the knowledge to develop habitat in appropriate ways. Withholding this vital service is impacting on wildlife in the district by excluding our residents from accessing educational programs for our youth and scientific services and networks for landholders. The costs to council are minimal and reasons are not forthcoming on request.
We ask South Burnett council to simply join the Land for Wildlife scheme so we can access services or at the very least conduct an arms length cost benefit analysis and make the results public.
The South Burnett is too big to be ignorant about our ecological impacts and futures.
