There MUST be a reason that the Illegal wildlife traders persist in using OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg as a gateway to push their products internationally.

That reason must surely be that either a significant amount of rhino successfully leaves South Africa via this airport?

OR this seizure is a ploy to distract us while bigger shipments are leaving from somewhere else? 

To answer this question there must also be a way of tracing where this horn comes from? Neatly packaged and wrapped there must be lots of rhino and human DNA for the specialist authorities to work with. 

This seizure amount seems to suggest a stockpile supplier.  No poachers or illegal traders are going to keep a stockpile of this amount of horn, surely?

Is this horn from a government stockpile? Or a private rhino horn farmer? 

The South African domestic legal trade in rhino horn is clearly NOT working.
