Cette pétition a pour but de soutenir l’attribution d’une wild card, autrement appelée invitation privilégiée, à Lucas Corvée et Ronan Labar pour participer à la compétition de double hommes de badminton aux Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024. 

La paire française s’était assurée la place de numéro un français au classement "Race to Paris", synonyme de qualification aux Jeux Olympiques. Or, cette semaine, date à laquelle le classement de la Race to Paris s’est terminé, la BWF (fédération internationale de badminton) a revu des points qui leur avaient été attribués en mai 2023 sans aucune concertation préalable.

Cette mise à jour chamboule le classement officiel sur lequel ils se sont basés tout le long de la qualification olympique et relaie Lucas et Ronan du jour au lendemain au rang de deuxième paire française, ce qui, de facto, les exclut des quotas olympiques. Ce scénario choque l’ensemble de la communauté du badminton français et mondial, qui comptait déjà voir la paire Corvée/Labar aux Jeux cet été.

En signant cette pétition, vous soutenez l’allocation d’une wild card à Lucas et Ronan pour faire partie des Jeux Olympiques de Paris 2024, la BWF, seule responsable du scénario qu’elle a engendré, devant leur permettre de participer au rêve pour lequel ils ont parcouru les quatre coins du monde depuis un an et se sont entraînés toute leur vie.

Cette wild card permettrait de voir deux paires tricolores aux JO de Paris. Essayons de trouver une belle fin à cette histoire, qui a pour l'instant un goût bien amer.

Support Lucas Corvée and Ronan Labar for a wild card at the Paris Olympics!

The purpose of this petition is to support the allocation of a wild card to Lucas Corvée and Ronan Labar to participate in the badminton men's doubles competition at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The French pair were ranked number one in France on the Race to Paris ranking, which meant Olympic qualification. But this week, as the Race to Paris ranking ended, the BWF (Badminton World Federation) reviewed points awarded back in May 2023 without any notification.

This update turned things around on the official ranking, which was wrong from the very beginning of the qualification period, and, just overnight, saw Lucas and Ronan relegated to number two in France and, in fact, out of the Olympic quota.

The situation has shaken the French and international badminton community, who were already looking forward to seeing Corvée and Labar compete at the Games this summer.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the allocation of a wild card to Lucas and Ronan to be part of the Games in Paris, with the BWF solely responsible for the current situation they created, allowing them to participate in the lifelong dream they trained their entire lives to make a reality.

The wild card would allow two French pairs to participate in their home Olympics in Paris - a fair outcome that would follow the Olympic spirit.
