LA CACCIA SELETTIVA AL CINGHIALE NON STA FUNZIONANDO; SERVONO METODI ALTERNATIVI

Negli ultimi decenni, nonostante la forte pressione venatoria e a dispetto dei tanti metodi di caccia attuati, la popolazione di cinghiali in tutta Europa è aumentata esponezialmente.

Diversi studi hanno evidenziato che la caccia selettiva di questi ungulati, interviene sulle dinamiche ecologiche della specie ottenendo risultati opposti rispetto alle intenzioni: in pratica più aumenta il numero degli abbattimenti, più i gruppi, tutti a base matriarcale, si destabilizzano finendo per disperdersi maggiormente sul territorio  per  riprodursi con numeri sempre piu' elevati. Questo aumenta il rischio di danni all'agricoltura e di incidenti stradali.

Inoltre, per favorire la caccia, molti cinghiali di razza non autoctona sono stati importati dell'Est Europa e immessi sul territorio italiano. Questi "nuovi" esemplari hanno cucciolate numericamente superiori rispetto a quelle degli ungulati originari dei nostri boschi. Negli anni tutto ciò ha provocato la crescita preoccupante della popolazione totale di ungulati nel nostro paese.

Di conseguenza, ultimamente molti di loro, per sfuggire alla caccia e attratti dagli scarti alimentari lasciati vicino ai cassonetti dell'immondizia,, scendono dai boschi e si addentrano in quelle città dove il servizio di raccolta rifiuti non è efficente e ben organizzato,  come farebbe qualsiasi altro animale affamato, provocando disagi ed incutendo paure infondate nella popolazione.

Pertanto chiediamo alle Regioni Italiane e all'Unione Europea di INTERROMPERE LA CACCIA SELETTIVA AL CINGHIALE ADESSO, perché è evidente che non è la soluzione al sovrapopolamento degli ungulati, ma, al contrario, aumenta il problema. E chiediamo allo Stato Italiano di ordinare, qualora i cinghiali scendano nei centri abitati, LA NATURALE RIEMISSIONE NEL LORO HABITAT, abolendo sia l'attuale legge, entrata in vigore a causa della psa, che ne prevede la cattura e l'abbattimento immediati, sia la legge che ne prevede lo spostamento in una ZAC o in una riserva di caccia.

Continuare a delegare ai cacciatori la gestione della fauna Italiana non è più possibile; loro non hanno alcun interesse a ridurre la presenza dei cinghiali sul territorio poiché ne traggono divertimento ed utilità.

Concentrarsi piuttosto su nuovi farmaci immunocontraccetivi per contenerne il numero, sulle reti elettrificate per proteggere le coltivazioni, e sulle migliori modalità per mantenere le nostre città pulite, potrebbero essere alternative valide, economiche ed etiche.

Noi non siamo i padroni del Mondo; se davvero vogliamo salvare questo Pianeta dobbiamo imparare a convivere con tutti gli altri animali che lo abitano in maniera civile, senza alterare negativamente i delicati equilibri creati dalla nostra Madre Terra.

SELECTIVE BOAR HUNTING IS NOT WORKING; WE NEED ALTERNATIVE METHODS.

In recent decades, despite the strong hunting pressure and in spite of the many hunting methods implemented, the wild boar population throughout Europe has increased in exposure.

Several studies have shown that the selective hunting of these ungulates intervenes on the ecological dynamics of the species, obtaining results opposite to those expected: basically, the more the number of killing increases, the more the groups, all on a matriarchal basis, become destabilized and end up dispersing more on the territory to reproduce with even higher numbers. This increases the risk of agricultural damage and road accidents.

Furthermore, to encourage hunting, many wild boars of non-native breed have been imported from Eastern Europe and placed on the Italian territory. These "new" specimens' litters are numerically higher than those of the ungulates native to our woods. Over the years, all this has caused the worrying growth of the total ungulate population in our country.

As a result, lately, many of them, to escape hunting and attracted by the food scraps left near the garbage bins, come down from the woods and enter those cities where the waste collection service is not efficient and well organized, as any other starving animal would do, causing inconvenience and instilling unfounded fears in the population.

Therefore, we ask the Italian Regions and the European Union to STOP SELECTIVE HUNTING FOR BOAR NOW, because it is evident that it is not the solution to the overpopulation of ungulates, but, on the contrary, it increases the problem. And we ask the Italian State to order, if wild boars descend into inhabited centers, THE NATURAL RE-EMISSION IN THEIR HABITAT, abolishing both the current law, which came into force due to the African swine fever, which provides for their immediate capture and killing, and the law that provides for their movement to a hunting dog training area or a hunting reserve.

Continuing to delegate the management of Italian fauna to hunters is no longer possible; they have no interest in reducing the presence of wild boars on the territory as they derive fun and usefulness from it.

Rather, focusing on new immunocontraceptive drugs to contain their numbers, electrified grids to protect crops, and the best ways to keep our cities clean could be viable, economical and ethical alternatives.

We are not the owners of this world; if we really want to save this planet we must learn to coexist with all the other animals that inhabit it in a civilized way, without negatively altering the delicate balances created by our Mother Earth.
