Hello The Last of Us fans. This petition is focused on the community getting Neil Drunkmann fired, and changing the ending out The Last of Us Part 2, or making the game non- canon. We, as fans, have been very badly mistreated and mislead. 

To start, the marketing for the game mislead many fans. We were told from Neil Drunkmann's own words that we would be playing the game as Ellie and this was her story. This is not the case because in the sequel you are forced to play as Abby, the antagonist that many fans do not care for and do not want to play as. We also were shown in many trailers that Joel, a fan favorite, would be in the game with Ellie as a companion and that he saves her from almost getting caught by W.L.F in the trailer. This is not the case because he was replaced in the game by Jesse because he was killed in the first hour. Finally we were SPECIFICALLY told you would not have to kill any dogs in this game if you did not want to. This was also a lie from Drunkmann and his studio as you are FORCED to kill a dog as Ellie.

Speaking of Joel's death, which many people have a problem with, it is very out of character. He throws caution to the wind for almost no reason and trusts random, armed individuals. Many people hate this story detail because of how out of place and ruins Joel's legacy in previous games. This takes Joel out of our story in a very disrespectful way and does not give closure on his character or relationship with Ellie.

Another reason we are not happy with the game and want to be recognized is that we are forced to play as Abby. She is the antagonist of the game and has 0 likeable traits. Her story arch and character has many holes. Also you have to fight Ellie as her which is very off putting because no one wants to fight their hero or such a loved character. 

The biggest problem is that we cannot kill her in the end of the game. The theme of the game is about revenge but our main character, Ellie, gets no vengence or closure over the death of her father Joel. The player isnt able to change this. We have to watch as Ellie just forgives her after killing almost a entire army, a pregnant woman, animals, losing all her lived ones, has Tommy shot in the face,and the loss of her fingers. It makes no sense at all in the story for Ellie to just give up, and it makes the player feel that everything they've done is for nothing. 

So in conclusion we specifically request a resignation from Drunkmann, a update to let us kill Abby and salvage the ending and story of this game, and to make the game non- canon. Thank you.
