I wanted to share an important breakthrough regarding the community preservation of LittleBigPlanet found by the community. While no method currently exists for PS4, on PS3 it is possible to on LBP1, 2, and 3 to play any level without the need to mod or jailbreak your PS3, nor the need to emulate. As long as you know the name of the level or the PSN username of the creator, you can find any level through the archive.

Despite this massive breakthrough, I am keeping this petition open because we only have an archive of levels up to 2023 and are currently missing a year's worth of levels. Additionally, these files are hosted on Archive.org, which is currently being sued by both game companies and book publishers; it's very possible that the LBP archive will also be affected by this.

Additionally, this archive is NOT Sony-approved, it is created entirely by the fans. While I hope this is not the case, it's possible that Sony could one day DMCA the archive, and any custom servers players are hosting. Notably, even though Sony has not done anything with the LBP IP in a long time now, they recently DMCA'd a LittleBigPlanet fangame.

That all being said, I still encourage everyone reading this to check out the archive, and to check out LBP Refresh or LBP Union/Beacon if you want to continue playing LBP online. The community is small, but strong, with around 50-100 players consistently active daily on the Beacon private servers. But for those of you who are unable or unwilling to play custom servers, it is now possible to play community levels without the official servers!
