300 signatures in 2 days for a relatively small community is no small achievement, but let's not stop here. Below are some other things we can help do to further spread the word of how improtant the history and legacy of these games are:

  • Reach out to your local media preservation experts - Media preservation and digital archeology is becoming a more important discussion as the internet ages; reach out to any local organizations that specialize in media preservation to get their help to pressure Sony
    • As an aside, if you know of any organizations that specialize in digital media preservation, let the LBP community know!
  • Reach out to your favorite content creators to add their voice - Having more prevalent voices speak out to their support of getting a public archive will make the need for one far more visible
  • Reach out to your local lawmakers - In some jurisdictions (primarily in Europe), there is more pressure on lawmakers to support end-of-life programs for games as a service; https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ is another movement working towards a similar goal
  • Reach out to Sony's social media and customer support teams - Let them know how important this issue is
  • Support efforts to archive levels offline - I'm intentionally leaving the folks behind this anonymous, but look up ways to help support preservation of content being lead by the community; the content servers for LBP are still online, but inaccessible, so while the chance is small, it might be possible to obtain the data ourselves. This is not a reason to stop pressuring Sony, however.
  • Continue to share - Sharing has always been a core tenant of LBP, and sharing this petition to your friends and online communities is still important. If you still have friends you've met on LittleBigPlanet, ask them to pitch in! Send them a message urging for their help on PSN! Though be wary of sending links from the get-go in case your message gets automatically flagged as spam or malicious.

One very important note to add if and when you do reach out to people for their support: Always be kind to them, even if they cannot or do not help; sometimes people do want to help us, but are unable to for reasons out of their control. Always thank them for their time no matter what their response is.
