Sonic.exe: The Disaster to be back up and running - Sega didn’t do what ninetnedon’t!

The Issue

As you might have heard, the official SEGA account took down Sonic.EXE: the disaster. This has hurt many people, such as myself. While this might not seem like much, it makes you question. If they can take down one fanagame, what stops them from taking down others you like?

I know some people want to respect OutLaik’s wishes, but the point here is no longer just about this game, but about the other games that may suffer the consequence of us enabling SEGA to not allow a non-profit derivative work(which I remind you, is in favour of the fangame under fair use laws).

Also, we have allowed other smaller fangames to be closed on Roblox, thinking it was GameFam, and not acting. A mistake I am ashamed of.

However, we can stop this.

It’s time that we, as a community, act on this and fix this mistake. We cannot allow it to develop into something more severe. It is time to act, now. If we all work together to spread the message, we can save Sonic.EXE: the disaster, and hopefully, the rest of the sonic fangames!

What I would advise you to do if you would like to help, is to sign the petition and share it with your friends and family and ask them to share it with others too. Also, if you are a social media influencer, please speak about this issue. If not, then please bring this issue to attention to influencers by commenting on their videos to ask for help. Please don’t beg though, as that gives us a bad image.

Also, there is one massive way to help the cause: on the next Sonic Twitter Takeover, I want you all to comment things about Bringing Sonic.EXE: The Disaster back, and I mean everyone, as the more people who comment about this, the more we will be seen and heard. This is the only time that the Sonic Team is guaranteed to look at comments, so this is our best chance of spreading the message to Sonic Team.

Remember, if we all work together, we can make a change. Just like we did for the movies! We just need enough people to be heard and we, as a community, can change the fate of sonic Fangames, past, present and future’
