As a resident of Londonderry, living close to Route 102 and using these intersections daily, I am deeply concerned about the safety of our community. The three intersections on Route 102 in Londonderry have been plagued with serious accidents. These incidents are not just statistics; they represent countless lives lost and families shattered.

The frequency and severity of these accidents indicate a significant problem with traffic safety at these locations. It's not just about inconvenience or delays; it's about the safety of everyone who passes through these intersections - our friends, family members, and neighbors.

This situation calls for immediate attention from the relevant authorities. We need comprehensive traffic studies to be conducted at these intersections to identify the root causes of this issue and propose effective solutions. This could include redesigning the intersection layout or implementing stricter traffic rules.

We urge local government officials and transportation authorities to prioritize this matter urgently. By improving traffic safety measures at these three intersections on Route 102 in Londonderry, we can prevent further loss of life and ensure safer roads for all residents.

Update: A group of us from south Londonderry attended the Londonderry Traffic Safety Committee meeting on Monday, 1/8/2024, to advocate for addressing these intersections.

102 is a state road, so these changes are not in the direct control of the town. The town has agreed to pursue a "Traffic Safety Audit" with the state as an immediate course of action. It is not guaranteed that this audit will occur, nor are its outcomes guaranteed, as the state budget for these things is constrained.
